This would be funny were it not true. The average US citizen by age 50 is taking 17 different medications per year, around half of which genuinely are to counter the side-effects of primary medications. Furthermore, most doctors are clueless regarding adverse drug-drug interactions, so much so that 30% of hospital deaths are now a direct consequence of mis-prescriptions by physicians that are not caught by the pharmacist at time of fulfillment.
