Today’s Politically Correct dogmas are just as misguided as any Victorian dogmas, but as most people have very little knowledge of history and even less desire to learn its lessons, we keep making the same mistakes. Gender differences are to be denied, as are differences in intelligence.

While we’re forced to accept physiological differences in height (only the most Politically Correct can argue that we’re “really” all the same height as each other) it’s easy to deny differences that lack obvious visual markers. Of course this intentional denial of real-world data leads people into intellectual dead-ends, but that’s a small price to pay when imposing one’s world view.

Fortunately, science is the one mechanism we humans have developed that enables reality eventually to surface, albeit sometimes only after many generations have passed away, carrying their mistaken assertions with them to the silence of the grave.
