Trump is a mindless infantile moron. Therefore he has absolutely no idea about anything. He simply repeats what others tell him - indeed, until a few days ago when China signaled its obvious most-easy path of retaliation for the orange creature's latest tariffs, Trump would never have heard of rare Earth metals, which is why it never occurred to him that China would chose this weapon in its extensive arsenal. Now someone else has told the blubbering cretin that Ukraine has rare Earth metals, but once again because Trump has no brain he can't see the conflict between his enduring desire to hand victory to Putin's invading horde versus his desire for newly-aware-of rare Earth metals. The fact Ukraine can't mine or refine such ores when under constant attack by Putin's thugs, and the fact that many of the ores are presently under Russian occupation, is simply beyond his non-existent intellectual grasp. Trump is the inevitable product of a system of governance in which totally ignorant mentally stunted people can stand for office and equally ignorant and equally mentally stunted people can vote for them. He is, in other words, a symptom and not a cause, and as such he is the clearest possible indication that our civilization is finished.
