Trump’s Pathetic Quest
Why his favorite word tells us so much about his total failure
Trump famously has an extremely limited vocabulary to match his famously extremely limited intellect. He uses the word beautiful a great deal as an unacknowledged psychological defense mechanism to protect his tremendously fragile ego, because the very last adjective anyone would ever use to describe the bloated orange mental cripple is beautiful. Repulsive, yes; beautiful, never. Even his wife can’t bear the slightest touch and she sold herself for the sake of a Green Card, so she’s hardly got high standards.
But the most interesting word Trump loves to eject from between his weak pouty little lips is respect. No one has ever respected Trump and deep down he yearns for it while also probably knowing he can never have it because there isn’t a single aspect of Trump that is deserving of anything other than utter contempt and ridicule.
One of Trump’s classic whines during the Biden lacuna was the pathetic lie that Putin would never have invaded Ukraine if Trump had been in the White House because “Putin respects me.” This is akin to a child with amputated legs claiming that if he’d been allowed to compete in the 100 meter Olympic men’s sprint he’d have won easily.
