When indulging in futuristic fantasies, it is a good idea to study some basic physics first. This enables authors to avoid appearing unduly naive. First of all, we will never travel to any other star, for reasons I've enumerated in many articles here on Medium. Secondly, communication does not, and cannot, travel faster than light. All experiments with so-called quantum teleportation (really quantum communication) rely on information about the pre-entangled state being transmitted to the receiver so that the receiver can interpret the entangled state they measure on their side. As this communication necessarily occurs at the speed of light, we are therefore always and forever limited by the speed of light (just under 3 x 10^5 kps).

It's easy to become confused by silly media headlines and articles written by lazy journalists who can't be bothered to try to understand what they write about. But that's no basis for thinking carefully about future possibilities.
