When we step aside from childish sci-fi and look at reality, we see that AI is just another tool. We don't fear being wiped out by hammers or automobiles, though they cause far more daily harm to us. Furthermore, even if in a world of magic fantasy some omnipotent computer system decided, for reasons entirely mysterious and irrational, to wipe out humanity, who'd keep the server farms going? Who'd keep the power generating stations pumping electricity into those CPUs? And why wouldn't someone just cut the power to the Mighty AI? When we stop imagining silly sci-fi can become real, we can relax about the supposed dangers of AI taking over the world. Heck, AI can't even take over a coffee machine.
