While it is absolutely true that the average person is hopelessly ignorant about the basic realities of life, it's also true that most of the statistics you quote are overhangs that may be entirely eliminated due to more recent events. For example, populism/fascism in the USA will certainly undo many of the quality-of-life elements cited, as will Brexit and other retrograde populist events. Meanwhile important public health initiatives such as vaccinations have collapsed due to our absurd panic over covid-19, which will, the WHO estimates, kill 250 million in the coming decade. All in all, looking backward is not a reliable guide to tomorrow.
