While it is no doubt amusing to speculate on what difference Western jets "could" make in the conflict, the reality is that any tiny trickle of jets that do arrive will turn up at least 18 months too late to make any practical difference at all. Today, Ukraine is attempting a counter-offensive with precisely zero Western jets and as such it is unable to perform combined arms. Its old Western MBTs and IFVs, along with the ancient vehicles supplied by the USA that were last used in the VietNam era, are merely slow-moving targets for Russian air assets. So there's as much value in writing about what F-16s "could" do as writing about what would happen if Ukraine had teleportation devices or the Hogwarts Sorting Hat. As always, we've provided far too little, far too late.
