While it is probable that the Brits will indulge in lachrymose sentimentality, the reality is that we're talking about the death of someone of modest intellect who's accomplished nothing of importance while leading a very pampered existence for more than seven decades, never knowing financial insecurity or any major setback. The British royal family is an absurd anachronism that has neither place nor utility, and it is merely because people are such empty-heads that it has persisted for so long.
