While it would be charming to imagine that most people are receptive to coherent rational arguments, all studies indicate that this is untrue. The average person has no interest in facts and reason and when confronted with alternative information will double-down on whatever beliefs they've been fed. Thus no matter how well-crafted one's brief, human reality will always ensure that it falls on deaf ears. Change happens because people holding one set of beliefs die and are replaced by people holding different beliefs. Individuals actually changing their minds when confronted with facts are, like unicorns, entirely mythical.
