While it's always amusing to talk about EVs "saving the planet" the reality is that they do no such thing. Most electricity is - and will for some time continue to be - generated by burning fossil fuels. EVs therefore merely shift emissions from individual automobiles to central power stations, which is no real help at all. In addition, the harmful environmental impact of making modern batteries - which cannot be recycled and end up as toxic landfill - is likewise not something that contributes to "saving the planet."
