While it's clear that improved logistics algorithms can go some way to reducing costs, the idea that automated vans and robots are any "solution" to the cost problem is hilarious. Let's see: a cheap delivery vehicle with a $12-per-hour driver or a very expensive and failure-prone delivery vehicle with a very expensive and failure-prone robot... hmmm.... tough choice.... This is Elon Musk territory: highly complex billion-dollar answers to problems that actually have much simpler solutions.
