Your seasonal guide for keeping on top of what’s Politically Correct this month
As if you didn’t have enough to do already, what with buying in all that extra food and trying to get just the right gifts for people and trying to work out which streaming video series to binge-watch after dinner, you also have to stay on top of the latest trends in performative wokism in case you find yourself on the wrong side of whatever is deemed unacceptable this month. Totally exhausting!
But don’t worry, we’ve got your non-gender-specific back.
Here’s our December 2023 Seasonal Guide To Being Correctly Woke.
The good news is that we can start with some reasonably long-running trends (e.g. those that have persisted for more than a few excitable days in the twittersphere). First of all — but coming first in no way implies any superiority, moral or social or ethical over any of the other elements in this Guide — we can note that it’s still totally acceptable and indeed compulsory to be prejudiced against heterosexual white males.
By using the phrase “presenting as a straight white male” we can imply that they’ve simply made a bad choice. This means we’re not racist and not prejudiced and not sexist; we’re just not happy with the arbitrary retrograde patriarchal option…
