My own view tends toward the pessimistic, wherein US support collapses after the Republican Party gains control of the Congress, and the usual European denial/appeasement reflex re-establishes itself. Starved of materiel, Ukraine will have no option but to cede territory (and perhaps political independence) to Russia, which is the worst-possible outcome.
